| THERE ARE 40 DAYS BEFORE THE RALLY ITALIA SARDEGNA |
26/04/2014 - There are forty days before the start of the Rally Italia Sardegna, the sixth round of the 2014 World Rally Championship, organized by the Automobile Club of Italy with the support of the Region of Sardinia, and in the meantime the first entries at the race are arriving.
In fact the Citroen Team has already sent the entry of the three Ds3 Wrc managed by the North Irish Kris Meeke, the Norwegian Mads Ostberg and the Emirates´ driver Khalid Al Qassimi. Also the Czech driver Martin Prokop (Ford Fiesta Wrc) sent his entry, like those of three Wrc 2 top drivers, the Italian Lorenzo Bertelli (Ford Fiesta Rrc), the Qatar´s star Nasser Al Attiyah (Ford Fiesta Rrc) whose codriver will be the Italian Giovanni Bernacchini, and the young Estonian promise Ott Tanak (Ford Fiesta R5).
The entries will close on the 6th of May, and by that date are expected those of the official teams racing in the World Rally Championship (Volkswagen, Hyundai and Ford MSport) as well as those of the other drivers in Wrc 2 championship and numerous private Italian and foreign drivers (Sardinian crews will have special conditions like in the past).

The 2014 Edition of the Rally Italia Sardegna will be race from the 5th to 8th of June with 372 km timed divided into 17 special stages. The city of Alghero will host this year for the first time the Headquarter, the Service Park and the press room of the event, which will start with the shakedown of 3.50 km scheduled on the morning of the 5th of June in Putifigari. Later in the evening of the 5th of June there will be a ceremonial departure in Cagliari, and in the capital of the region at 9.06 p.m. there will be also a 1,30 km timed super special stage in the port area.
The 6th, 7th and 8th of June the special stages of Monte Acuto, Anglona and Nurra will host the three legs of the event, whose prize giving will be host in Alghero´s port the 8th of June early in the afternoon.
