01/06/2014 - Robert Kubica had last Friday his test pre event on the Ford Fiesta Wrc of MSport on the gravel roads of San Giacomo stage. The 29 year-old Polish driver won twice in Sardinia, in 2003 in Cagliari with Opel in F. 3 and last year at Olbia with Citroen in Wrc 2. "I don't think this time I will win in Sardinia for the third time," - said at the end of the test - the situation this time is more difficult. This is a place that I like that I always gladly, and last year it was one of my first events on gravel and I found it quite well. Obviously the rally will be very difficult, also because the configuration of the race has changed a lot since last year, about 30/40%, with the novelty of Monte Lerno in long version. The target is to finish the race, run with a pace middle fast and I should be fine to finish among the top 5 but I would be happy also if I finish among the top 8 ".

How is going the Fiesta on gravel?
"During the test I used the road on which I had done last year the test with Wrc 2. I see much difference as I drive the Ford Fiesta Wrc than the Citroen Ds3 Rrc, but one thing is to have a good feeling with the car, and another is pushing to the top. There may be many surprises, often ugly, and therefore we must try to avoid them with a good rhythm but not too high, and with a constant race".

What do you say to yours many Italian?
"It's always nice to come in Sardinia, I experienced a period of my life in Italy and here I feel at home. It's nice to see Italian fans and a lot of passionate people, so I say don't miss a chance to see the WRC in your country".
